Someone on my twitter post and asked “Why everyone seems to be into BDSM lately”. Since I’ve been around from times before this was the “Cool Kids” scene, I may be able to help divine an answer.

BDSM is being mainstreamed. You’re welcome, I’ve worked hard to do this, not just in my Blog but also on Bondage Radio.

BDSM is on television. BDSM in the movies and books and has become a Zeitgeist. BDSM is a means of expression and rebellion against the establishment.

BDSM has simply been popularized in a trend against the Conservatism that has helped spawn it’s opposites into power.

Most people play for a bit…until they meet someone serious. The real kinks stick around after the lights burn out.

That being said; as I browse the internet I come across many interesting and outrageous things about myself and my lifestyle. Things that other people notice, but are just too common or too deep in my psychology to actually be noticed by me.

Tidbit #1: In general, dominant men who are in the BDSM lifestyle are not chauvinists.

How do you handle correction or punishment from the one you serve? What is the worst punishment you have received?

I’ll have to reply from the Dominant’s point of view:

What’s the worst punishment I have ever given:

Most of my girls have outwardly, handled punishment quite well. I’m going to assume here because the truth of the matter is always subjective and probably wouldn’t apply to all of the girls whom have served me.

what was the worst? I’d have to say every punishment I didn’t want or didn’t like giving would be the worst.

I am not a Sadist to the Nth degree like so many of the BDSM Masters out there, consequently my style of Dominance doesn’t include pain or punishments handed out liberally.

I have one instance in mind tho that would have to be the worst; It is well known in many of my personal circles that I HATE doing the washing up, cleaning dishes after a meal. I wont go into the reasons for it specifically but suffice it to say, it stems from my childhood.

On one occasion I had a slave with me who after a long day where she had displeased me on many levels and after she had gone to bed, in the guest room next to the kitchen, I came out to discover that she had left the dishes un-done. I’m sure luna can relate as she has mentioned needing structure on several occasions.

I turned on the lights in the kitchen, making sure the light was shining right in the guest room and LOUDLY proceeded to do the dishes, clinking clanking and clamoring noises drew her out to find me elbow deep in dish soap and water. When she offered to finish and let me rest, I glared at her and through gritted teeth ordered her to bed. When she protested I did relay the story of my childhood and sent her to bed yet again, letting her know how displeased i was.

To her, I’m sure she would have preferred me beat her then allowed her to finish her chore before bed. Instead I let her stew in her guilt of displeasing Me, allowed her to hear my hated chore come from the next room over, and let her know that she could not correct the situation that night.

I can assure you now, that I haven’t had to wash a single dish, since.

Most of my friends on fetlife know that i have been ill for a long while.

Browsing his most recent show, you get the feeling few people enjoy their job as much as photographer Lochai.

His Beach Bound exhibit at the World Erotic Art Museum (1205 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach) is a study in Lochai’s various fetishes. While front and center is the theme of women in bondage — hence the show’s title — the photographer’s NC-17 tastes clearly run the gamut: the images include a nun in a leather gas mask, a naked woman perched above a toilet, and an androgynous figure in a full-body rubber suit, lying in a bathtub being pummeled by running water from the spout above.

But as unlikely as it sounds, the images aren’t necessarily shocking — nor does that seem to be Lochai’s intent. And instead of the violence you might expect from a portfolio of bondage photos, there’s a playfulness instead. In images that might otherwise invoke terror — for instance, the pair that shows a woman left bound by a hotel bed, or in an eerily domestic living room — the subjects gaze with a mix of mockery and intrigue at the camera.

As to whether you should go to this show, it’s fetishism — either it gets your attention or it doesn’t. If you’re a regular reader of “Savage Love,” you’ll probably find this exhibit, at the least, entertaining. If you’ve ever protested a gay Teletubby, on the other hand, you should probably save your cash for Miami Spice.

If you do go, be sure to wander around the rest of the museum, which is surprisingly expansive for a place that’s very missable from the outside. They’ve got it all here, with perverse pieces from all over the world, ranging from the contemporary (an 8-foot golden penis statue) to the ancient (Chinese jade dildoes). You won’t look at a lamppost, or a bald guy, the same way for the rest of the day.
